GOnight again

26 02 2007

We had a couple of returning visitors today, which is always very exciting. We had another good group at GOnight tonight (over 30), and we were able to distribute more than 1,000 more of our evangelistic newsletter.

Back on Sunday night

19 02 2007

It’s always exciting when someone gets the courage to come on Sunday night for the first time. Yesterday we had a military “widow” (her husband just left for Kuwait) come to church morning and evening. We’ve had some other visiting families the last two weeks.
Abby and Katie have both been sick and miserable for several days. We’re taking them to the doctor this morning because it’s been about 5 days and they don’t seem to be getting better.

Appreciate your prayers

12 02 2007

The Lord brought two visiting families yesterday. We also have some very serious prayer requests from a couple different families in the church. Please join us in bringing these things before the Lord.

Abby & Katie

Here are a couple pictures. It does get cold enough around here to bundle up every once in a while! Actually, we had a pretty hard freeze that killed a lot of the plants. Then there’s a picture of Abby with her Lovegrove cousins. And Katie.

David Wilkinson job

6 02 2007

Yesterday David began his new job as an adjuster for Farmer’s Insurance. He was very excited after his first day, as he started to get to know the people and more of the details. Thank you very much to all of you that have joined us in praying for them.

Moving away; defining personal ministry

5 02 2007

Today one of our church families is moving away. This was a very sweet older couple that had been a great encouragement to our church. Actually, they were the only people in our church over the age of 60! They were such a blessing to us, and we will miss them very much.
With yesterday’s sermon (on the meaning of discipleship) we finished working through our definition of personal ministry: Seeking God’s fame, compelled by Christ’s love, and depending on the Spirit’s power, every Christian lives to influence others to follow Christ. It is exciting to watch our church family grow to understand this.
