HBC Church Planting Conference, Day 1

22 02 2010

The congregational singing has been a blessing. We’re learning Chris Anderson’s new hymn “For the Sake of His Name,” a Great Commission song full of helpful, Christ-centered wording. It fit well with the sermon this evening from John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

Brad Baugham exalted the authority of Christ from Psalm 2 this morning. Eric did a good job with his Rancho update, and we used powerpoint to do a 15-minute whirlwind overview of the opportunities in Southern California. After the evening service we had some good conversations with people interested in church planting.

Praise the Lord for a sweet day to be pushed toward Christ. Now to be doers, not just hearers…
